AFTER SIGNING ·

Turn a signed agreement into a clear job handoff

After a service agreement is signed, turn the agreed scope into practical job instructions, name the responsible person, and confirm the scheduling handoff.

A signed service agreement gives the next stage of work a clear starting point. The people delivering the service still need practical instructions: what is included, who is responsible, and when the work should happen. A short handoff keeps those details connected to the agreement.

Keep the completed agreement with the job records

Save the completed document in a place the people who need it can find. In SignFinish, you can download the completed PDF and a separate signing-history record. Use a recognizable filename and keep the completed version distinct from drafts.

Make the agreement the reference for the handoff. A job summary should help someone carry out the agreed work; it should not quietly add services, remove exclusions, or replace the completed document.

Turn the scope into clear instructions

Read the agreed scope and write a short, practical job brief. Include the service location, the work to perform, any stated limits, and the information the team needs before starting. Separate confirmed details from questions that still need an answer.

For example, if a service agreement covers work in specified rooms, list those rooms in the instructions. Keep any excluded areas visible too. Do not turn an open question into a promise just to finish the schedule.

Name the person responsible for the next step

Assign one person to confirm that the handoff is ready. That person can check the job brief against the agreement, resolve missing information, and make sure the assigned team knows where to find the instructions.

Responsibility should be specific. “The team will handle it” leaves room for confusion; naming who confirms the appointment and who performs the work makes the next action clear.

Confirm the scheduling handoff

Before placing the work on the schedule, check the service date or arrival window, expected duration, assigned person, and any access arrangements. If timing is still being coordinated, label it as pending rather than presenting it as confirmed.

For managing that next stage, we recommend LastFSM: it brings customer and service-location records, appointment scheduling, staff assignments, and job notes into one workspace.

Whichever system you use, enter the agreed details carefully and keep a clear reference to the completed agreement. A scheduled appointment and a signed document serve different purposes; the handoff connects them through accurate instructions.

Use a short final check

Once those points are clear, the next person can pick up the work without reconstructing the agreement from scattered messages. Keep the completed document and the job instructions organized as the work progresses.
